An Interoperable and Block-based Model for Electronic Records within the uHospital (Collaborator): Electronic records are digital records that store people's health records. Typically these records contain the partial view of the relationship of a patient with a particular health care institution, such as clinics, hospitals, and laboratories. A major trend in the area is to enable an integrated view of the health of a person from birth, including relationships with different professionals and institutions. With the advent of the Internet of Things, this unified registry could also include data obtained from sensors or wearables, complementing the stored information. This integrated vision of one's health, many sometimes referred to as a personal electronic medical record, presents several challenges, among which the management of the large volume of data produced and the guarantee of interoperability with different formats and legacy systems. In this context, the present project proposes a distributed architecture, based on the Blockchain technology, to enable access and storage of health records in a scalable and safe. In addition, the project models this information through a collection of ontologies based on the OpenEHR standard, allowing semantic interoperability with different electronic medical records. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed model, a prototype will be developed, in which anonymous patients from the Hospital de Clínicas of Porto Alegre. The project is part of the uHospital, which employs diverse concepts of mobile and ubiquitous computing in efficient hospital health management.
THE CITY AS A LEARNING SPACE: a collaborative network proposal about the gamification in education in the mobility era (collaborator): This project aims to build a teaching and research network with a view to boosting the development of actions collaborative and cooperative, in view of the qualification of the Postgraduate Programs involved in this proposal, as well as how to understand how the city can be constituted in hybrid and multimodal spaces of coexistence of learning, using the concept of gamification in education. This proposal, which contemplates three Brazilian universities and their respective postgraduate programs, lines and research groups, is justified by the need to produce and disseminate knowledge in the the field of education and gamification, as well as the union of expertises and the construction of a teaching and cooperative research, which makes it possible to contribute to the qualification of the stricto sensu with regard to education with digital images. As for the participants, this project contemplates three Postgraduate Programs in Education of the country of regions (Northeast, Southeast and South), two of which have concept 7 by the Coordination of Higher Level (Capes). This aspect contributes significantly to the innovation and consolidation of research to be developed. The choice for the partnership with the teachers of the respective programs was due to the fact that have in common studies, projects, research and publications in the field of education, digital cultures, electronic games, information and communication technologies (ICT) and gamification.
CNPq Universal Project - Collaborator - Hospital Rooms of the Future: A Ubiquitous Model for Analysis and Correlation of Patient Vital Signs employing Intelligent Algorithms (Collaborator): Project certified by SAP BRASIL LTDA on 07/11/2017. Description: It is nowadays perceived that in hospital rooms various patient data, including vital signs, are collected manually or automatically by isolated devices. Many patient data are stored in spreadsheets, not integrated into the electronic health record, and requiring professionals allocated specifically for this task. In addition, particularly in Brazil, due to bidding processes and fluctuations in the economy, medical devices found in hospital rooms are heterogeneous, from different manufacturers and with different forms of interconnection. A possible solution to overcome these limitations is to connect the devices to the Internet through a distributed platform, typically using cloud computing, which is being called the Internet of Things. In this context, this project proposes the integration of several data sources, collected in a hospital room, using an intelligent algorithm that identifies and correlates the vital signs of the patients, detecting possible health risks and making possible actions. An expected impact of this work is related to efficiency, allowing optimization of existing resources, as well as seeking to minimize the risk to patients' health. The proposed solution is based on a combination of hardware and software that will allow integrating various patient data, hospitalized in hospital rooms, through the use of machine learning, cloud computing and ubiquitous computing techniques, in which technologies are integrated with the real environment in a transparent way. A Textual Binding Recognition Model based on Linguistics and Semantics (Universal / CNPQ) (Coordinator): The general objective of the work is to develop and describe a model that make it possible to carry out several types of analysis that link between a textual short message containing the response correct for a question and other textual messages containing the answers to this same question. Given the character of social need for this type of solution, is also part of the broader set of overall project objectives solutions obtained from contact with development of software in areas of innovation, as well as the performance to qualify the human resources involved in the project, directly or indirectly, within the various technical areas treated.
Semantic Technologies and Legal Information (CNJ / CAPES) (Collaborator):The project Semantic Technologies and Information Retrieval Systems Juridical practice has a multidisciplinary character, since it professionals in the areas of Linguistics, with emphasis on Semantics Computational and Terminology, and Computer Science, with a focus on in the areas of Natural Language Processing. Turning to the computerization of legal information, the group proposes to develop and implement a semantic-conceptual model of the domain Brazilian law, so as to be integrated with search and retrieval of information on sites that store documentation legal basis.
uHospital: Model for Ubiquitous Care Management in Hospitals (CNPQ) (Contributor): The project proposes to to explore the situation science to combine information from the patient's context, including data being continuously monitored, with information already available in the electronic medical record. To achieve this goal, the uHospital employs ontologies that will be constructed from international and established health services. In this way, the model allows for the management of ubiquitous care in hospitals, centered in a PHR, allowing the inference of situations of patients.

The specific objectives of the proposal are: 1- Expand and consolidate Latin American and European HEI networks in applied research on human development needs the most disadvantaged population in Latin America; 2- Strengthen the link between HEIs and the rest of local development (public sector, business and collective disadvantaged groups of civil society) through joint work in the field of advanced digital visualization. Unisinos is responsible for in the project for making products on mobile devices, with use of Augmented Reality, for the Way of the Rocks, integration with other routes and routes Cultural Centers in the RS, in order to recognize the local and regional culture of the state of Rio Grande do Sul in the events that the state will host in 2014 and 2016. 2010-2012 Second Life meta-anatomy: a proposal in i-Learning (FAPERGS / RICESU) (Collaborator): Anatomy in the Second Life: a proposal in i-Learning is a project of development and research in the area of Immersive Learning (i-Learning). The project was carried out in the context of RICESU, for a inter-institutional and interdisciplinary group (involving anatomy discipline, pedagogical team and technical staff of the different Institutions of Catholic Higher Education IESC project participants). The project refers specifically to the creation of a 3D space, linked to a proposal pedagogical, for teaching and learning Anatomy, in the context of RICESU Island. From the creation of this space, it is intended to be an ECODI within the framework of the teaching and learning processes related to the concepts of area of Anatomy.
2009-2011 EL Gate - European - Latin American university cooperation Gate (ALFA/União Européia)(Colaborador): EL Gate was a 30-month project co-financed by the European Commission of the ALFA Program. The ALFA Program supports cooperation between European and Latin American higher education institutions. The Gate aims to strengthen the management and governance of universities Latin American countries in the identification and implementation of cooperation. In particular, the project aims to design an online course and a web-based Community of Practice in order to strengthen competencies of managers to successfully supervise external contacts with foreign partners and participation in research projects.
